Comprehensive Site Assessment.
Before starting any installation, one of our skilled experts will perform a detailed site survey. Following this, we will provide a complete written quotation to ensure all project details are addressed. For any questions or to request a quotation, please feel free to reach out to us at 0800 669 6306.
Please keep reading to learn what to expect when we visit your site to conduct the survey;
1. Assessing Existing Conditions:
-
Surface Quality:
Evaluate the existing wall's condition, looking for any damage, inconsistencies, or irregularities. Note any imperfections or repairs that need to be addressed before cladding installation.
-
Moisture Levels:
Use a moisture meter to assess the moisture content of the existing wall, ensuring it's within acceptable limits for bonding the cladding. New builds may require at least 6 weeks of drying time before application.
-
Contaminants:
Check for any contaminants like grease, mold, mildew, or other substances that could interfere with cladding adhesion. These should be cleaned or removed before installation.
-
Wall Structure:
Determine the type of wall (plasterboard, concrete, etc.) and its structural integrity. This will help choose the appropriate cladding system and fixing method.

2. Determining Project Requirements:
-
Wall Height and Layout:
Measure the wall's height and layout to plan the placement of cladding panels or sheets, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
-
Desired Aesthetics:
Discuss the client's preferences for cladding colour, pattern, and style, including any required matching of colours to existing elements.
-
Cleaning and Sanitisation Needs:
Identify the specific cleaning and sanitisation requirements of the environment. Some cladding systems are designed for easy cleaning and resistance to harsh chemicals.
-
Special Needs:
Note any special needs, such as impact resistance, thermal insulation, or fire resistance, that should be considered when selecting a cladding system.
3. Assessing Adhesion and Fixing Methods:
-
Surface Preparation:
Determine the best surface preparation methods for the specific wall type, including sealing porous surfaces with PVA.
-
Adhesive or Fixing Method:
-
Evaluate the suitability of adhesive systems, mechanical fixings, or a combination for the specific cladding and wall type.
-
Material Acclimatisation:
-
Ensure all materials are acclimatised to the final operational temperature of the building.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
-
Detailed Report:
Create a detailed report outlining the findings of the site survey, including measurements, condition assessments, project requirements, and recommendations.
-
Visual Documentation:
Include photographs or videos of the site to document the current condition and any areas of concern.
By conducting a thorough site survey, you can ensure that the hygienic wall cladding is properly installed and meets the specific requirements of the project.
